
2018–2019 Alameda Branch CM Calendar



Fall: September-November REGISTRATION and FEES
Registration Period: October 1, 2018-October 31, 2018 (deadline at 11:59 pm)
CM database open for registration. NO late registrations under any circumstances. After entering all student information, verify the information for accuracy on your Student List.
Registration Fee:
Add a $30 branch surcharge to each Piano student and Cello student.
*Regional Panel Surcharge ($40) applied in addition to the State Registration fee.
Teacher Information Page:
If you need to change your email address or enter your information for the first time, click on your username in the top right corner, then click “My Profile”. Please inform the CM Chair if you have changed your email address after Oct. 31.
Registration Fee Due: November 1-November 10, 2018 at 11:59pm
After entering all student info, verify the information on your Student List.
Please note: The 2018 Registration fee will be paid online, with the payment completed directly by parents through the online portal at new.mtac.org. The teacher and parents must check all application details (grade, level, Senior Award, Panel, YAG) before the payment is made, as no changes can be made after completion of the payment. Please attend the mandatory CM meeting on September 24 for details. Your registration will not be considered complete until your Teacher Work Agreement is received through either email or mail (if mailed, it must be postmarked by November 10, 2018).



Winter-Spring: January-April : EVALUATION INFORMATION, SCHEDULING, AND EVALUATION
Attention: Piano Syllabus 2012 is required for the 2019 CM evaluation. Errata are available at the Teacher’s Homepage.
Enter Student Evaluation Information Online: January 2 - 15, 2019.
The CM database is open for entering Student Evaluation Information, Branch Honors and the preliminary Convention Recital application between January 2-15. Teachers must fill out the Student Evaluation Information forms completely and correctly, paying close attention to the piece chosen from the Syllabus so that compliance with level requirement may be verified. The Branch, CM Council, and State Board of Directors are not responsible for teacher errors. (CM Policy V-6)
On January 15th, all students with incomplete Evaluation Information will be dropped and not scheduled for the evaluation.
Teacher Work Hours: January 2nd – 20th
Work assignment hours will be based on the number of students enrolled per teacher by October 31, 2018. Students dropped will not result in a reduction of work assignment hours. You will be asked to work up to 1.25 hours per student. A minimum of four hours is required.
Please Note: A monetary Non-Work Fee of $200 per half-day or $400 per full day, payable to the Branch, will be imposed if you cannot or do not appear, or refuse to work. There will be a fee of $100 if you arrive late or leave before the assigned shift is completed. See the Teacher Work Agreement on page 8 for more details.
You will receive a Teacher Work Schedule via email. Please email Teacher Work Schedule Requests to CM Co-Chair, Melissa Farley (mfarley33@gmail.com) by January 20, 2019.
Evaluation Schedule: Will be sent on February 7th to the e-mail address on the Teacher’s Homepage.
Evaluation time Swap period: February 11th – 15th.
NO schedule changes after February 16th. (Schedules are printed on the 16th, so no exceptions) Students will receive a “No Show” or be dropped if they want to swap after the 16th of February.
Evaluation Site and Dates: Holy Names University; March 2nd & 3rd, 2019
There will be one weekend for the 2019 CM Evaluations.

Teacher Packet: March 21st
Teacher’s packets containing evaluation forms will be ready for pick-up by noon. Locations to be announced. All Theory tests will be ready for pickup after statewide testing is completed at a date and location TBA.
Branch Honors Recitals: (Students level 5 and up are eligible)
Berkeley Piano Club, March 16, 2019, Multiple recitals 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Branch Honor Requirement: Student must have received scores of GOOD or above on Technique and Sight Reading, with a Theory score of 85% or above.
Convention Application Deadline: April 15 (Students level 3 and up are eligible) Instructions and application online on the MTAC Certificate of Merit website.
Make-Up Procedure Application Deadline: April 15
High school students only. Contact Branch CM Chair for the procedure, make-up application form and fee.
Summer: June-July CONVENTION
Convention: June 28 – July 2, 2019
